New moon. A drawing in. A turning away. An embracing.

Once upon a time, there was an emptiness. Once upon a time, there was no difference between the emptiness and the fullness. And then, The Mother spoke a Word. She spoke the Logos. She spoke Sophia. And with the Word she spoke, she split the world in two.

So that now, we go back and forth. We go in and out. We have zeros and ones. We have blacks and whites.

And even more than this, we have all the shades of grey, all the colors of the rainbow.

Walking to work today, in the heaviness of the rainstorm threatening, in the lushness of the late-summer, first-day-of-menstruation, really-wanting-to-stay-at-home-in-bed, trees-dripping-with leaves, I saw the evidence of the world's dichotomy.

It's hard to put into words, so I took a picture.

I can't go home again, so I guess I'll just keep moving forward.
